Sometimes I'm glad when I see people who only give 1 clap, because it shows me that they're more likely to be people who are genuine readers on Medium, rather than people who clap just so you click on their profiles. I often give 50 claps, but I think that's partly because I like looking at the applause and the numbers go up XD its a pretty unique feature! It's pretty hurtful though when you realise you have more "fans" than reads, because at the end of the day, we want to be heard, not just empty applause. Great piece!
