I don't have an issue with Elon Musk in general, but I think it shows there's something closed minded in his approach. Ironically, by trying to make Twitter encapsulate everything, he's made the new name quite generic. I think he's trying create his own social media site without having to go the trouble of capturing a new audience. The connotations of the blue bird vs X is interesting. The blue bird implies talking, gossip etc, which certainly fits twitter. X can also imply connection, but the current branding of it makes it seem cold and impersonal.

Then again, this is coming from the man who named his child X Æ A-12. I think he just likes the power of the letter.
