Ads I Don’t Hate: The Walkers’ CrispIn or CrispOut Debate
You have to be British to understand this one
I feel like I’m embarking on a dangerous journey by writing this article.
Not only am I questioning my own sanity, but I am genuinely concerned that the good people of this earth will report me for subjecting them to advertisements that they have already waited five seconds to skip.
Look, I do hate ads, I really do. I hate them so much that I refuse to go into the field of advertising even though it’s pretty lucrative for someone who just graduated with a Literature degree and has to figure out which one her ‘transferable skills’ would be appealing to an employer. (Either that, or teaching).
That said, some adverts (dare I say it) actually have a pretty good story. Some…have even made me laugh.
There. I said it. There are some ads that I actually like. Kill me or boycott me, it won’t change the fact that my sense of humour is a product of our consumerist society.
